So tired and yet not sleeping

I feel stupidly tired and yet I can't sleep well! I know about good sleep hygiene (and sometimes I even try to practice it...) but when I go to bed I just don't fall asleep! It's not that I worry or stress or anything. I just don't sleep.

Typically I'll then wake up and be wide awake at 4am... and then I can't go back to sleep well because I know that in X hours I need to be getting up, sorting our the kids, getting ready to go to work...

It's just stupid! Maybe I need to make a concerted effort to go to bed earlier or something. I don't know what, but something has to change 🤔

Have you tried chamomile tea? I used to hate when people mentioned teas to magic all their problems away… HOWEVER… I then discovered snoozy tea by tea pigs and I’m not joking - they knock me out in about half an hour! 😂 I also use EFT tapping techniques for sleep - Nick Ortner does a great app and that REALLY helps too - stopped me from relying on prescription strength sleeping tablets at my absolute worse x

I utterly loathe and detest the taste of chamomile tea, but it might be worth it for a proper night's sleep! Thanks for the suggestions 😀

@Jourdain11 the snoozy tea is lavender, apple and chamomile so if you add a bit of honey for sweetness it’s pretty nice - and I usually hate any type of herbal tea etc! 😂 hope it helps! 🤞 x

Great, it sounds bearable with the additional flavours, I will try to find it when I do shopping tomorrow!

Hi there, I know how you feel, I don’t mean it in a rude way etc but I find watching porn or masturbating before bed helps as one I’ve climaxed I feel more relaxed and in more of a position to fall asleep?

Peri-menopause?

Jourdain11 · 16/01/2022 00:06

I don't think so... I'm 34 and periods still regular, normal length, no other symptoms. So I'd be surprised, but you never know!
