To be irritated

Currently sat at my boyfriends. He crashed half hour ago. He has to take amitriptyline for pain. They don't help with pain but they knock him out for a few hours. They've killed his sex drive. I'm 33 and he's 47. Sat here feeling really bored and wishing I could go home. I have so much sympathy for him and his pain. But it's so dull just sitting here bored and wide away 3 or 4 nights a week whilst he sleeps. I want sex and conversation.

I don't understand why if this a currently a regular occurrence you can't have a chat and agree there's no point you coming round if he's taking the meds that night and he let's you know whether to bother or leave your get together for another day.
Is not his fault, but it's no fun, so just work round it between you until its not a problem anymore.
If this is his future maybe let him know you don't want this life and though he's lovely you're going to end the relationship. No blaming, just, this isn't for me.
