Looking for a smartwatch to track my activity. Not too bothered about other features but want the full range of activity monitoring, waterproof and decent battery life. Never had one before and really struggling to know what to get. Fitbit is putting me off because of its subscription for the premium features. I like the look of Samsung ones as my phone is Samsung but even with them there are too many to choose from and I can't make sense of it. So, what watch do you have and what do you recommend?

I have the Samsung galaxy watch. It's good, like you I just want to track my activity and don't need all singing dancing. I would recommend

Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 is pretty decent and easy to use

I have Galaxy Watch 3 (bought it before the 4 came out) and a Samsung phone and I am very happy with it. I have had multiple Fitbits and none lasted two years before something broke that couldn't be repaired or replaced - I suspect they have built in obsolescence.

I love my Garmin Vivoactive 4s (also with Samsung phone). It's got a good range of activity tracking and for each one you can configure different screens to show stats of interest (distance, time heart rate, pace etc) You can also add "workouts" to activities so you can be alerted to different phases of activity eg for doing intervals. I also link it to Spotify to listen to music/podcasts.

I have an Inspire HR Fitbit with a Samsung Galaxy phone. I did sign up to the premium service for the free trial but decided it wasn't worth it. It tracks everything I want - activities, heart rate, sleep, and loads I don't. Just checked when I bought it and it was June 2020 so hopefully on its way to 2 years plus. It was £80 if price is a consideration.

Just to add it is waterproof and battery life is about 5 days.

I have a Samsung 2 or 3 and I really like it. I wear it swimming as well as everything else and it's working well for me. I wouldn't say it had a great battery life, but it's what I would expect of something like that. I charge mine every day because I like to have it full, but I could manage every two days.

Garmin all the way…most accurate in my experience 😊

KhaleesiOfChaos · 15/01/2022 08:01

Withings. It looks like a normal watch, not a smart watch, it's waterproof and the battery lasts at least a month. The app is good as well, lots of data to track sleep, heart rate as well as steps etc.

I've never had a Fitbit or other smart watch as I think they're so ugly but my withings has genuinely improved my life!

Samsung Galaxy in rose gold, because it does all the things I need it to and it's pretty.

I have a garmin watch and love it, it has all the things on it I need but some may feel it’s not enough. What I love about mine the most is that it doesn’t look like a smart watch but a regular ladies watch too.

It’s a garmin Lily, battery lasts 3-5 days so far, I imagine in time that will reduce though

I recently upgraded to the Apple Watch - enjoying it so far and completing the rings each day has got me more motivated than I expected it would.

Prior to the Apple Watch I had an Amazon version (about £20 on Amazon) and it was great value. Waterproof, battery lasted about a month (Apple Watch needs charging every night!!).

Would recommend the Amazon one to be honest - tracks sleep and workouts along with steps.
