To change (job)

I'm so undecided. Got to hand notice in next week if I decide to go.

Current job is 29000 with shift allowance included. Shift work 8-4 and 1330-2200 for 6 days with 3 days off. It's ok, boring interspersed with occasional bitchiness from one other teammate, dealing with public. Just been told to wfh full time doing the online stuff.

Job offered is admin with SS. 18000 (huge drop), but Mon-Fri 9-5. Wfh 3 days a week.

I can cope with the loss of income (just) but no more late shifts is a bonus. Another downside is going back to only weekends off. However, I don't have to stress about booking annual leave so much. It's so hard where I am that I have to try to book 18 months ahead.

I only have 10 years to go before retirement but pension is not an issue as it's all local govt.

There's also the fear (of change) factor. I'm comfortable where I am. I know how to do the job and it's not particularly stressful.

Aargh. Help!

Putting both jobs aside, what do you want and need from work right now and going forward? Write a list.

Taking each job separately, how do they compare?

That's a very low paid admin job. Can you not find something that pays a bit better?

Also, what does the admin job involve. Most of the people I know who do admin jobs are stressed out of their heads these days.
