To let you know that you can text 999 in an emergency if you cannot call

For those of you who aren't aware, it is possible to contact 999 via text message IF you cannot make a call safely. A call should be first option as it's faster to get help

You need to register before being able to use this service by sending a text to 999 saying "register". Await a response.

I urge everyone to do this

It's also useful if you spend time in areas with poor reception – text messages can often get through when a call keeps dropping.
