The embarrassment ... singing Minecraft songs to acquaintance

10 years ago DCs were heavily into Minecraft. It was all they talked about. As part of this they watched countless videos including all the videos where people had taken popular songs and given them Minecraft relevant lyrics. It's was CONSTANT.

I am driving along this morning giving a person i know but wouldn't class a friend so not someone who knows how odd I am a lift to the station. Just as she's getting out the car Katy Perry It's Friday Night comes. In my head I am hearing the Minecraft lyrics which in itself is bad enough but when the chorus comes along I just burst into the Minecraft version... "Don’t minnnneeee at night" This coincides with her opening the boot to get her bag out!

In my defence the song was played on some sort of 6 hour loop (why was there a 6 hour video loop of thr same song but whatever) but the look of absolute amazement is burned into my brain!

AIBU to never ever see her again or do I just brazenly front it out and be like yeah I love Minecraft Parodies who doesn't?

I wouldn’t have blinked an eye. I have to remind myself that the Minecraft versions aren’t actually the original. See also that Ed Sheeran one, which apparently does not actually include the line about ‘a sword with sharpness 2’.

Oh god I was subjected to the minecraft version of Gangnam Style way too often!!

Even though it was years ago, I still quite often sing out loud 'oh, sexy piggyyyyyy', for no apparent reason. 🤪

Also when Dd used to play it, there were some gamers on YouTube who called sheep ‘Sheepoo’

I still call them that. Dd just gives me that withering teen look.

I have to admit I do still sometimes call the dog Doge - she does look like the Minecraft skin though!!
