Experian - level of info

Please someone that knows the answer ...

I am leaving. I've saved some but need more to ensure I can support the kids for 6/8 weeks.

I have a CC that he has used to almost the limit. IF I am able to increase the credit limit will his experian membership show him that I've done this?

I don't know what "level" of membership (is that even a thing with Experian) he has but I did see his laptop screen a few weeks ago when he was logged in and that showed people he was financially linked to. I was only able to look at it briefly so don't know the ins and outs.

What i am concerned with is that he will know I've increased the limit and / or what its been increased to?

I don't want him to use the credit nor ask me about it.

(Just to add, please I don't need to be told not to increase my debt. As much as I appreciate that, I do have a plan (a share save scheme that will be maturing in September that will clear it easily even if i do not make anything on the contributions). I need out before then so I can get a new bank etc sorted for payment to go into.)

So just - will his experian show him if I increase a credit limit/spend on that card? Credit card is in my name.

I'm hoping someone who uses experian will know the answer.

Thank you

If its your card then he shouldnt be able to access the account information. Does he no longer have access to the card?

He does still have access - he has the second card. Account in my name. I am primary card holder.

So he can’t see anything?

It’s the bit about people he is financially linked to that’s thrown me. How much info does that actually give?

But if you increase the limit will he not just be able to spend more?

Can you get his card stopped?

Dontknowwhatsnormal · 11/01/2022 19:46

The bit where it says who you are financially linked too literally is just that, a name and nothing else so it should be fine from that point of view

As it is virtually at limit (which he knows) he won’t try and use it anyway. Not unless he knows the limit has been increased.

I have plans in place and stopping his card is on day 1 when I’ve gone.
But after I’ve taken/bought what I need for know.

Just to second what the pp has said - if gives the name but no extra income. He won’t be able to see the increased limit. Good luck. I hope you find freedom and happiness Flowers
