AIBU to be angry that husband has spent 10 out of 25 days of leave with friends and playing golf?

The rest is 4 days for me, bd, my friend’s wedding, while I go away with my mum and 11 on family holidays. The holidays are in term time which means all school holidays are just me and the kids.

You’re choosing to have family holidays in term time and then are upset that the school holidays are spent with just you and the kids not going away? You could easily solve this by booking holidays in the holidays, unless I’m missing something…

When my husband couldn’t take time off in school holidays (genuinely had to work) I took the children off to a hotel on my own. We had a great time and I paid with his credit card.

I’d let him play golf but for every day he plays golf, I’d be getting a day back to myself. He can’t dump you with the kids.

YANBU

I’d say a fair split of 25 days leave is

5 days for him to be away with his friends / doing hobbies while you care for the kids
5 days for you to be away with your friends/ hobbies while he cares for the kids
15 days family holiday.

If he takes 10 days for himself, and 10 days to care for the kids while you have your 10 days, that’s only 5 days for a family holiday.

Not upset about when we’ve booked our days together as a family, just that there can’t be more of them
