New photos of the Duchess of Cambridge

I can't believe I'm even posting about this but here I am. This is not a post to lay into her but I saw the photos in various places yesterday and today - today on the Vogue website - and if I hadn't been told that they were photos of her I wouldn't have known who they were of rather than an attractive woman wearing some very elegant ballgown type things.

I was going to put this in chat but then realised that I wanted to know if it was just me who thought that she looked very different to how she usually does. This is so deeply unimportant that I'm half cringing while typing but it's been bugging me and I'm wondering why I think she looks so different.

YABU - she looks no different to usual
YANBU - I think she looks a bit different to usual too.

Oh! In one of the photos, wearing a very Grecian looking gown, she is photographed from the side and in that one, she looks the same as usual to me. It's the other two where she looks different.

I am still cringing. Normally I'm bothered about far more serious stuff, I promise!

You're completely right. It's a combo of looking very pale with heavy brows, the crimped hair and it almost looking like she's been flipped around to look like a slightly-off mirror image. I scrolled past not knowing it was her on BBC news.

You’re right she looks noticeably different. I mean she looks lovely as she always does but yes they don’t really look like her.

Beautiful, artistic but I had to look several times to check it actually was Kate.

Agree. She’s lovely and elegant and I’m a big fan of hers. The sideways-on shot looks most like her, the other two - attractive yes, but her face is subtly different. Not in an ‘enhanced’ way - as in work done, just, I don’t know - slight elongated? I have other things to think about too, I promise!

I think it's her mouth that looks different, it's almost as if she's got false teeth in 🤭

She's a pretty woman, no need to photoshop these photos so much.

The pic in the red dress I wouldn’t have had a clue who she was. The side on full length pic she looks more like herself but honestly I think she has looked way better in candid shots or in that gold dress for the bond premiere.

Yes the one in red looks totally different from normal, but the black and white one look more like her usual look. Was the red one her stunt double?

There have been at least two threads in the royal family forum on here, OP, though I think one got pulled, because it apparently 'wasn't in the spirit'.

I hadn't even got around to considering whether they were a good likeness compared to any other photos, I was too busy wondering about the weird photoshopping of her head in the one with the red dress -- the shadows under her chin look really strange, as if her head is at the wrong angle on her neck...?

The one in the red dress has been filtered to get rid of her warm, sun kissed, healthy complexion. Nobody is used to her looking slightly grey toned and anaemic.

She seems to be wearing much less make-up especially eyeliner, I think that makes a difference. Lovely photos but I prefer her more casual - sure she couldn’t care less what I think though!

I'm not that keen on them. I prefer other photos from earlier they are to posed for me even for a posed photograph.

I agree op that it could be any attractive woman

I tho k she looks beautiful. However I have to agree, she looks early 30's in these and in photos in real life whilst she still gorgeous she looks her age ( possibly slightly older due to her dress sense ).

I think she's also had a bit of birthday work done!

I thought they looked a bit "off" but everyone is raving about them so I didn't say anything 😬 I think she's really beautiful and the photos just don't capture that.

She's lost the eyeliner and had her brows reshaped, or enhanced or something. Her teeth also look bigger different. But I think she's just staying on trend, and I like the photos.

She's a naturally beautiful woman and they've photoshopped the living daylights out of photos that are meant to celebrate her.

Seems a bit off really.
