To ask where can I find a longline gym top??!

I just want a longline gym top that is not skin tight, ideally not a normal tshirt but one made out of sweat wicking, quick drying etc material. Even more ideally not crew neck and with short sleeves.

Longline is most important though, I have a strip of fat on my lower belly which is more pronounced since my c-section and I'm self conscious of it. It's OK when I'm stood up and I have high waisted gym leggings. But with squats etc, or anything bouncy, the bulge is quite something and I'd feel so much better with a skimming, longer top.

Anyone have a recommendation? Google persistently sends me to crop tops.

Try the men's section! Most of my tops came from the blokes' range of H&M. It's a few years since I've been to the gym Blush so I don't know what their stuff is like these days

I have the same problem!

It's frustrating

Gumboots29 · 09/01/2022 09:44

I wear mens vets or gym t shirts.

I have to buy men’s gym tops

ComDummings · 09/01/2022 09:45

Women’s stuff all seems so short!

I've been Having the exact same issue. I was ranting about it in sports direct and Nike last weekend. My husband didn't understand until I went and got a selection of womens tops. See through. Skin tight. Low backed. Low armpits.

sandgrown · 09/01/2022 10:17

I think I got my last one from M&S. longline, v neck and short sleeves .

CMOTDibbler · 09/01/2022 10:20

I wanted longline long sleeved as I run, and ended up buying from a 'modest clothing' company who had a brilliant range of long activewear. You can go a size down as they are obviously designed to be very loose but I'm really pleased

It looks crazy long and baggy on the model, but she’s tiny bless her. But I’m size 16 and I have 5 of these tops and I layer them with up. I love them. They completely cover my bum!!

Ohmycron · 09/01/2022 10:28

Hate thin straps and gappy armholes

I got some karrimor xlite ones a few years ago from sports direct. I sized up so they were looser fitting. They were long at the front and longer at the back. Can't see them online though.

I 100% second the Under Armour one I led up thread. I have them and they are perfect for what you describe you need.

bookish83 · 09/01/2022 10:36

I've worn a longer vest top under a thin short sleeved one. Not ideal but makes me feel more confident!

Wotsitsits · 09/01/2022 10:37

I got one 2 sizes too big and rolled the sleeves up

BatshitBanshee · 09/01/2022 10:38

I got the same longline top @Ohmycron said above in Tesco. I actually find a lot of their gym vests are quite long. I have an overhang too on my lower belly so I get it OP. Annoying AF.

alfagirl73 · 09/01/2022 10:39

I have a similar situation at the moment where I'm working out hard, toning up all over but where I had abdominal surgery, I feel a little more self-conscious - although I'm learning to care less and just crack on.

I have found the best combination is: good gym pants - I got some recently on Amazon that do provide more support - but they're not "Bridget jones" numbers either. Then good quality high waisted leggings. Then I tend to just get some long vest tops from wherever - and then layer on top a looser one - USA Pro have some that are a little longer and looser at the bottom. I have found some of their tops a bit more forgiving and provide the coverage I want. I find that gives me the freedom to work out well but it just gives me a little more confidence.

Wrinklefree · 09/01/2022 12:01

Same as EishetChayil I normally buy my tops from the men’s section.

Chely · 09/01/2022 12:02

Buy a mens top

Chely · 09/01/2022 12:05

I prefer mens hoodies too as you don't have spray on arms. I like to lift heavy stuff and hate the tight arms on women's hoodies.
