Does anyone else feel antipathy towards companies that use overly familiar/chummy language when they communicate with you?
I find it really puts my back up.
I am not moron enough to think that (for eg) a mattress company is my friend, nor do I approach a mattress company in search of friendship. So why do they send me instruction leaflets and delivery information communications written in informal chummy language? Eg "the mattress is heavy [smiley-face smiley-face] so you might want to get a partner/neighbour [smiley-face smiley-face] to help you with it" [smiley-face]
I mean I guess superficially for a nanosecond it sounds better than "ha sucker! You've just spent £400 and we're not even going to unpack your item, fuck you" but we all know that's what they're saying. We just have to waste our time reading through this shit as well as having no customer service.
