Olivia Coleman playing the character is making me feel so awkward. Like I can actually feel how the character is feeling. I can feel her awkwardness right through the film.

I thought it was a lovely film OP and so well crafted. I've since seen very varied views on it, lots of people are upset by it and others just mystified. I can understand feeling it deeply like you have.
Do you feel, on balance, that you like it and you'd recommend it or was it too disturbing for you?

There are already at least three threads on this film!

Not that you shouldn’t post another one - but there’s lots of discussion already, which you may miss!

  • Another I can’t immediately locate.

@heldinadream I only managed to watch about 10 minutes as I felt so uncomfortable. She reminds me of myself when I sometimes feel awkward: I imagine it’s a bit of a universal feeling

@Bluesarestillblue oh I'm sorry you couldn't watch it. I honestly think it's a good and worthwhile film and tackles one of the last taboos - how ambivalent mothers may be about their children, and about being a mother, whilst still loving them deeply.
Thanks @LiterallyKnowsBest for the links to the other threads! Smile
