Obviously he shouldn’t have hit anyone but is being called or mistaken for Usher an insult? I would have thought Usher was a bigger star then Jason Derulo?

YABU - he was right to be annoyed
YANBU - it wasn’t an insult

Third option - reply if you haven’t heard of either

I reckon it was simply deliberate uncouth baiting of someone they thought was acting like he was special. I bet they know exactly who Derulo and Usher are. As for mistaken identity due to race, if it wasn't for his beard, could Derulo be mistaken for Beyonce?

I hate it sooooooo much when people get my name wrong. Like, bitch, please! Don't you no who I am? I'm soo famous......

2TurtleDovesInARow · 05/01/2022 16:19

I couldn't pick either in a line up so I'm not sure who should be offended. I've been to Aria several times though, lovely hotel Grin

DrManhattan · 05/01/2022 16:23

He was in Cats, I reckon most people would want to twat him

SleepingStandingUp · 05/01/2022 16:24

Usher is shorter, older and less attractive. No comment on talent, not a fan of either. But it'll be male ego and too much booze.

Usher's career started from the 90s. He was born in 78.

Jason, I think started mid to late 2000s, although I started hearing about it a few years ago. He was born in 89. Don't know him or his music that well, if at all. Wouldn't have thought to compare the two tbh. 2 different generations of music, I think.

...hearing about him, not about it

@Bananalanacake

The guy who sang about having the "shits on the floor"? I read it as he was offended as someone mistook him for a member of cinema staff.
He also used to sing his name in his songs. And people used to take the piss.

If its meant as a racial thing its crap low blow.
Funny story though, we went to a Radio 1 Roadshow back on the day and someone shouted "Whose shagging Kylie now" at Chesney Hawkes instead of Jason Donovan. My dad though it was hillarious.

MinnieJackson · 05/01/2022 16:54

I remember once someone called 'Hilary duff!' to Lindsey Lohan and she was really offended 😂

Butchyrestingface · 05/01/2022 17:42

But I think black and other minority ethnic people get tired of being mistaken for other black/ME people simply because of their skin colour. It’s lazy and (perhaps unintentionally) offensive.

Do we know the ethnicity of the person who shouted it? I couldn't tell from the video.
