posted in other sujects but realised it wouldn't get much if any attention there.

Going on a family trip in the coming weeks, so soon, and don't want to take my smartphone which could be stolen. I'm considering a smaller (cheap) phone with buttons. Just need the basic calling and texting options, nothing else. Don't want one with games, camera, whatsapp etc

Unless you're in a habit of losing phones I would just take my usual one. Are you going somewhere is likely to get stolen

Where on earth are you going that you think your phone might be stolen? Can't you keep in your bag? Or if going to the beach just leave it in your room/villa/whatever

Go to a phone shop, ask them.

Can't you just get travel insurance which would cover this? Even in the UK it'd be dirt cheap and save faffing with a different phone.

That said, a few years ago I bought an old style super cheap Nokia as a temporary thing after I broke my phone, and I loved it. The battery lasted a week Grin

I would just get the cheapest one on Argos
