How do I improve my self-esteem?

I have found over the last few years my self-esteem has become really low. There's no obvious reason for this, I am outwardly successful, decent job, nice husband and family etc. I find I am plagued with doubt and constantly worry I have done something wrong/am not good enough. Any tips on boosting one's self-esteem?

Therapy
Did that make a difference for you? I'm considering it

I always feel that I'm not good enough, too, OP. I'm in awe of my dd's optimism and self confidence.

Like you, I'm outwardly successful but I never feel that I've deserved any of it. Typical imposter syndrome, I guess, but I always feel like I've succeeded in spite of how I am rather than because of it. And that, one day, I'm going to get found out.

I catastrophise a lot and can be quite pessimistic. My self talk is horrible, I always have a voice inside my head telling me I'm going to fuck up. It isn't helpful and I know that my lack of self belief is more likely to sabotage my chances of reaching my goals far more than any other weakness.

I'm trying to use meditation at the moment to retrain my mind. And affirmations, visualisation etc. Therapy might also be worth considering. I wish you well on your journey.

I found that yoga helped - I went to the intense classes like Astanga and they really changed my posture, which somehow change me. I’ve also had therapy, and that helped too, though I had had to have two goes as the first therapist messed with my head.
