Help! Any foot experts out there? I have a 'thing' on the bottom out side of my left foot, it's making it hard to walk!

OverByYer · 02/01/2022 19:52

Looks like a verruca to me

Vapeyvapevape · 02/01/2022 19:54

I reckon verruca too .

RickJames · 02/01/2022 20:01

Verruca - congratulations Wink

I am rubbish at curing verrucas so I'm sorry but I've no advice.

DroopyClematis · 02/01/2022 20:08

Verruca.
Good luck.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 02/01/2022 20:13

Do you have diabetes? On medication that affects your immune system?

That looks as though it needs examination by a professional.

AiryFairyLights · 02/01/2022 20:25

You need to have it looked at by a medical professional OP

DedafalalalalalusBloom · 02/01/2022 20:32

Get there to a chiropodist before that gets too deep- the surrounding white skin is building up to protect your feet where you're putting pressure on it when you're walking.
A couple of treatments of an acid and that will probably just fall out. Don't dick about with OTC remedies; it'll take too long and can be unreliable.

ineedsun · 02/01/2022 20:35

Verruca- I had a couple of acid treatments which didn’t really work (and cost a bloody fortune) but in the end I put clear nail varnish on it every day and it got rid of it. Not sure it would have worked without the acid first

AnyFucker · 02/01/2022 20:40

It looks like it could be a verruca but I would get that checked by a doctor. Malignant melanoma can look like that and they do not necessarily appear on skin exposed to the sun.

Melanoma was my thought too. Verucca is more likely, but better to get it properly checked out.
ivykaty44 · 02/01/2022 20:51

id go to a Chiropodists first, if its not a verruca they will send you on. If it is, which it does appear to be then the can treat it - its usually two treatments about a week apart.

Alfredsothermistress · 02/01/2022 21:01

It’s cancer of the brain, which appears first as a verruca like symptom on the foot.

Don’t Google this OP. It always leads to a result that is cancer.

Don’t ask mumsnetters what it is either.

Just get it checked out.

Usernamqwerty · 02/01/2022 21:06

See a podiatrist.

PermanentTemporary · 02/01/2022 21:07

What's the scar? Could it be an infection?

If there's recent change i would definitely call 111.

Santasballsack · 02/01/2022 21:16

Thanks all I thought maybe verruca but when I googled they all looked kinda gnarly and pitted so thought I'd ask here before I asked for an appointment in the current climate!

DS has had one on his foot for years. Tried the stuff over the counter with no result. He’s decided to live with it now !

Santasballsack · 22/01/2022 20:46

Update, referred to podiatrist. GP Doesn't seem concerned, possibly not terminal.
