Just interested in what everyone’s plans are for this month and how they like to start off the year? Looking for inspiration to get into some good habits!

We're just from a long walk round a country park. Not many plans for the month really, just gym, swimming, looking after the kids. I start back at work on the 5th after being off on maternity leave. We've been invited to a party at the end of the month but need to see if MIL can babysit.

Dry January for me and a general reset in eating habits and healthier dinners etc

I’ve got a yoga course booked in which I’m excited about, a session a week for 8 weeks

Me and DH have said we want to hit 10k steps each day too even if it means an evening walk

Rainydays55 · 01/01/2022 22:32

I have just seen a 30 day yoga programme with Adrienne throughout Jan that I may give a try! For those of you that do regular exercise / gym, what time of day do you find it best to fit it in?

I do a lunchtime yoga class on a Monday and Friday and dh looks after the baby on his lunch break (wfh), on a Wednesday tea time I go for a swim while ds1 is in his sports class (family gym) and then a gym session at some point at the weekend.

Pre kids I used to cycle to the gym and have a work out before work in the morning.

Tradesmen start back Monday (renovating house) and my daughter goes back to school Wednesday. So back to the routine of up at 6.40am.
My personal plan is to resume personal training sessions, overhaul my diet and get back to my start up business by getting my home office in order (needs emptying so can be decorated and carpeted). I really want to concentrate on that.
We have also been talking about a holiday this year - we haven't gone anywhere since the pandemic started. But where we go this year dictates the next two so lots to think about.

Nc123 · 01/01/2022 22:45

I’m going to try and meet my step target every day. I am rubbish at doing this when I’m working so that’s a key one!

I’m going to try some new fun healthy recipes and I’ve just ordered a new recipe book.

I’ve set myself the target of making an extra £200 this month by selling stuff and writing, to help with the January squeeze.

And I’m going to look for some fun stuff to do with the kids.

Less screen time - more books knitting jigsaws

Just curious - why does where you go on holiday this year, dictate the next two???? Can't figure this out 🤷‍♀️
TiddleTaddleTat · 01/01/2022 23:55

Planning a few camping trips
Filling up new personal diary, trying to book in fun stuff.
I’m always very organised in terms of work deadlines etc but the fun stuff - drinks / coffees out with friends, holidays, family days out etc tends to not get organised early enough and I’m playing catch-up throughout the year.
Want to get back into making clothes.
Plan gardening for spring and next autumn/winter.
Continue house renovation.

mycatistrans · 02/01/2022 00:09

I'm making our fourth bedroom into a little dressing room/reading nook, so I'll be planning that.

alwaysscared · 02/01/2022 00:11

Moving house in 10 days
Want to lose 4 stone

whattodo2019 · 02/01/2022 00:14

I'm aiming to go Sugar Free for a year..
Fingers crossed I can make it

galacticpixels · 02/01/2022 00:24

I'm starting a new job so I'll be busy with that but I'm very excited about it. It's a well needed change.

Other than that just hoping to continue with my healthy habits including my daily walks and hopefully some hiking.

DrunkenKoala · 02/01/2022 08:34

It’s DD’s birthday the first week of Jan so after that is when I start to focus on me and get back into my normal routine of eating healthier and exercising regularly - I walk a lot and swim 40 lengths each week. I also want to cut back on the amount of screen time of an evening and go to bed earlier.

HintofVintagePink · 02/01/2022 09:02

Dry January
Getting to bed earlier
Not looking at my phone last thing at night
Decluttering one room a month
Booking a summer holiday
Exercise twice a week

Onionbhajisandwich · 02/01/2022 09:32

I’m going back on SW. I turn 40 in June and don’t want to be this weight so I’m going to put together a list of tea time recipe ideas and spend The next week or 2 batch cooking. I’m also going to make time to read the books I got for Christmas instead of being on my phone.

whatsoccuringnow · 02/01/2022 09:43

Dry January
Come off fb to minimise head space over toxic family members
Start exercise again and feel good about myself

Ohdofuckofdear · 02/01/2022 09:49

I want to redecorate the living room and our DS's bedroom and our bathroom,so not muchGrin

Waxonwaxoff0 · 02/01/2022 09:52

I'm a social butterfly so lots of weekend plans. Next weekend DS has a birthday party, then the weekend after I'm going to a baby shower, then the following 2 weekends I have plans with friends.

Go back to work on Tuesday and I'm going to attempt to change my eating habits to lose some weight. No way am I doing dry January though.

Agadorsparticus · 02/01/2022 09:54

Move into our new house and start decorating.
Eat well and walk daily.

Start with Dry Jan and reduce alcohol during the year.

AliTheMinx · 02/01/2022 10:14
