I waste so many hours on aibu. It's a sickness.

Pegasussnail · 31/12/2021 22:38

I'm thinking of getting an app to restrict my usage GrinWine
But not tonight

Happy New Year

MadeinSW3 · 31/12/2021 22:43

That literally is my New Years resolution. As of midnight I'm going cold Turkey.
I managed 2 years clean then got sucked back in and the time wasting has just snowballed. I'm embarrassed by it, I waste so many hours a week.

Zerrin13 · 31/12/2021 22:46

Its an addiction

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 31/12/2021 22:47

With all the time I waste on here I reckon I'd have at least 12 hours a week to working on my business.

TokyoSushi · 31/12/2021 22:53

Just about to go into my 8th year of this, I love it though!

NomDePrune · 31/12/2021 22:53

You know you've spent too long on MN when find yourself enquiring in the style of AIBU throughout your day:
aibu to think about dinner while eating breakfast?
aibu to wonder what dress to wear?
If you think like this then give yourself a few days off.

concernedalot · 31/12/2021 22:54

It's better than FB so i'm sticking with it

Casebasket · 31/12/2021 22:55

This and Twitter 😂

MaryAndHerNet · 31/12/2021 22:59

I only come here twice a day...

From 9am till 10.00
Then 10.01 till 9am

The AIBU section gets me through night time feeding of my new born. Being slightly addicted to it if I'm honest.

MadeinSW3 · 31/12/2021 23:00

Wink I think my husband likes the updates even now.

Obsessed!

If you enjoy it, why not? I sometimes think I should be doing something else, a jigsaw, reading a book, going for a walk, writing something, building or making something etc... But I get loads of pleasure and fun reading posts and threads on mumsnet and posting on here too. As said, where's the harm if you enjoy it?

Knockoneofftheshelftowin · 31/12/2021 23:11

I love it. It feels like a magazine with lots of interesting articles and real life stories.

I tell my friends about things on here. I think they think I'm crackers.

shinynewapple21 · 31/12/2021 23:47

One of my New Years resolutions is to find some more useful hobbies than wasting hours on here ! I mean - it has its place, useful advice and some threads can be really entertaining. But I spend too long scrolling up and down things I'm not even interested in !

LosingTheWill2 · 31/12/2021 23:53

I’m here more often than I’m comfortable admitting 😳🤦‍♀️

sunshineclouds24 · 31/12/2021 23:54

I'm completely addicated!

Ragwort · 31/12/2021 23:56

20+ years Blush ... it is so addictive

Redact · 01/01/2022 00:16

About 14 years. I think I'm addicted too. There's so much more things I should be doing. When I'm at work I only ever go on when I'm in bed as don't have time before then. But when I'm on leave it's a different story. There's so much other things I should be doing Blush

AcasterTwins · 01/01/2022 00:18

I read AIBU on the toilet.

There, I've admitted it.
