What is your job? I need inspiration and ideas for retraining - please help someone stuck in a rut

I have a degree in Eng Lit and I am a journalist/ copy writer/ general content creator, if that helps?

Degree in music (a loooong time ago) and postgrad journalism qualification about 16 years ago. Did work in theatre for a long time, have been journalist/editor for 15 years now. I do love it but the money is shit so if that's what you're after, don't do this.

I should qualify that - i'm actually on quite good money as I am quite senior etc but the ability to earn more in this line is really limited. I'm almost at the top of potential earnings and that feels a bit limiting.

How dou get to be a content creator?

Well, I say content creator, it's not like being an influencer or anything - I used to say freelance journalist but nowadays what I do is a lot wider than journalism, so it includes maybe organising and hosting webinars and other online events, writing advertorials as well as articles, doing social media for clients etc.

I got into it by doing a postgrad journalism course back in the mists of time when the internet was only just a thing, working in journalism for 10 years, then going freelance and basically going with the flow of whatever clients wanted me to do.

Degree in linguistics with a splattering of Spanish. SENCO in a primary school, I’m an English specialist by training and teach my class 3 days a week.
