Just seen her on TV, so impressed! She said it's not only about the bed they deliver to children without a bed, but they get a brand new mattress, duvet, duvet cover, pajamas, tooth brush. She said having something new delivered to them kick starts a different trajectory in some of those families in a grip of poverty crisis. She found out 400,00 children don't have a bed.
What an amazing lady!

I heard her on the radio the other day. It's something I've never thought about, even though we've only just replaced dd1's first (13 year old) bed and mattress because we never had spare funds. Mattress went to the tip but the bed was freecycled.

She's right though, because a new bed and mattress is such a huge outlay, I can imagine there are 100,000's of kids up and down the country who are having to 'make do'.

I saw this on the TV this morning and I have made a donation.

I never thought that after 59 years in England, (my whole life) I'd still be seeing children without a bed on the eve of 2022.

It is tragic and I was so impressed with this woman.

Made me cry that some kids were so pleased just to have a duvet and a toothbrush to call their own.

I can't believe how many people (me included up to a point) are so blind to this - and how many are judgemental arseholes about it. Whatever has happened - in an allegedly civilised country, any kid without a bed of their own to sleep in is a tragedy.

There are so many children born into and or living In poverty. If you care about this think about who you vote for.

It's called Zarach

Read about this a couple of weeks ago. Always impressed by the those who get off their arses and get things done. What a difference this must make to children’s lives. A similar charity is 52 Lives which crowdfunds each week for a different person / family or small organisation.
