Partner fell asleep

Background- breaking up due to partner being generally shit (but not abusive or anything) he does nothing outside of his 9-5 other than sit in his pants and scoff food.
Me and little one have been away for the week and I asked him to watch our son for an hour whilst I unpacked thinking it would be nice for them to spend some time together anyway, we still live together until house gets sold..
and I come downstairs... he is asleep and little one sat on couch watching tv (luckily) I can't stop thinking about it, especially giving the circumstances I will have to trust my son in his care soon. Is it normal to get so wound up over this? He thinks I am just trying to cause a fight when I have said that it's not on?

People fall asleep. It happens.

PurpleCarpets · 29/12/2021 00:50

Do not leave your child with this man.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 29/12/2021 00:52

Was it an unsafe environment? I have fallen asleep with kids in the room with me while they're watching the TV.

RedCandyApple · 29/12/2021 00:58

I can’t really get worked up? I’ve also fallen asleep when the kids have still been up, usually when I’ve been ill, you was in the house so can’t see the big deal

Sillysossij · 29/12/2021 01:02

It's completely shit but not necessarily unsafe.

Has he said how much contact he will want?

Is he one of those men who will get his mum to do the actual caring?
