My 5 year old dd will not sleep in her own bed! She will be up multiple times a night until we give in an put her in our bed , last night I decided no more! Well I seen every hour until 6:30am when I finally gave in an got in bed with her ... Aibu to expect her to sleep in her bed? I feel so much mum guilt over it but at the same time myself an my husband have no sex life as she is always in our bed or one of us is running up an down the stairs every hour to settle her 😭 anyone else in the same boat?!

Our 4yr old goes through phases of sleeping great and then bk to wanting in our bed a lot so I can sympathise. Although she's not as bad as u describe, that sounds awful.

She can absolutely sleep in her own bed she tells me she just wants a cuddle, is scared or had a bad dream and so on. I'm too soft I just give in and let her in our bed. For a while I wldnt let her in but wld take her bk try to cuddle her bk to sleep and sneak out. However I'd end up falling asleep with my knees at my chin in a toddler bed 🙈 I wish Santa wld come every night coz she always sleeps in her own bed when Santa is coming because I tell her he won't come if doesn't sleep in her own bed 😂

We have tried and succeeded with promising to buy her something she really wanted (something fairly cheap) if she wld sleep in her bed all week. However she then resorts bk so not sure I'd recommend that!

We are now going to try a bit of pocket money for her new piggy bank. So she gets a set amount for every night she can manage to sleep in her own bed. We've told her it wld be enough to buy herself a magazine or small toy if she stays in her bed all week or she can save it up and buy a decent toy. She's not well just now so last night didn't work 🙈 not sure if it will work long term but will give it a go!
