To buy a bigger bed

Have to co-sleep with 6m old for any chance of sleep. 5 yr old makes an appearance almost every night and of course has to sleep like a starfish and husband is the size of the abominable snowman. I’m fed up of sleeping on a sliver of the edge (way too small for my body 🙄) and almost face planting my side table each night.

I want to buy a bigger bed (king size) but not sure if I’m being ridiculous or not. There is nothing wrong with my current bed, it’s 7 years old and I paid a lot of money (for me) for it from next. So I wouldn’t be getting rid otherwise. Second, our bedroom is tiny and floor space will be even less with a bigger bed and it’s tight already

Get a super king

I got a king size mattress which actually fits better on my base than the double. Do it. Finally get to have some space.

If you can afford it, do it!

Sleep is precious when you've got young children, and you need it to be the best quality possible Smile

I second this. If I could afford to get a king size bed I’d bloody do it!!

There have been a number of similar threads about buying bigger beds recently.

It doesn’t matter what size you are considering moving too, the consensus is always buy the biggest bed you can and you won’t regret it.

I’m still trying to persuade DH that we need to move to a super king (or larger)!

I have a super king and it's changed my life! There are regularly 4 of us in the bed however.

mynameiscalypso · 28/12/2021 06:19

We have a king size bed and there is definitely not enough room for me, DS and DH. Definitely get super king!

Mercedes519 · 28/12/2021 06:20

King size gives you more but super king makes ALL the difference in width which is what you need in this scenario. Essentially you get three pillows width - one for you and baby, one for DC and one for DH. Bliss.

SnowAndIcicles · 28/12/2021 06:23

Do it. We went from a double to a super king for the same reasons you are considering it. It has been wonderful. Sleep is the best.

I mean get a bigger bed but I wouldn't be tolerating 5 year old in the bed with a 6 month old baby cosleeping

I had a king size in a tiny room, totally worth it, slept better in that than I had for years.
