Would you be annoyed if your partner did this

You bought them a month's subscription to something (a present they had asked for) and they didn't use it once, despite having had time. Cost was around £40, but just feels like a waste of my money.

If they'd asked for it then yes I'd be a bit annoyed

Stiffcondomhat · 28/12/2021 09:51

The cost to you is the same whether he used it or not.
I asked my husband for a fitbit once, used it for a week of so then chucked it under the bed.

What was it. I am nosey.
It wobt be personal - dont take it to heart.

Stompythedinosaur · 28/12/2021 09:57

That would be up to them! You aren't any worst off because they didn't use it. A gift shouldn't be an obligation.

DropYourSword · 28/12/2021 13:33

Was it a Christmas present? If so, it’s only been a few days!

Singlebutmarried · 28/12/2021 13:37

Yabu if it’s a gin kit and they’ve drunk it all in one go.

StFrancisdeCompostela · 28/12/2021 13:53

I would be a bit annoyed if it was something they asked for. I guess lesson learned that they weren’t that into it after all, but I see why it feels like a waste. I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it though, it’s just one of those things.

I'd be a bit irked - that really is just a waste of money. Unless, I suppose, it's a membership to something which is also a charity or 'good cause' (something like RSPB) where it can at least be be viewed as a donation.
