Has anyone ever stuck to a new year resolution

Family heated discussion today about whether there's any point doing resolutions.

I like them because they give me focus but the argument was that nobody ever sticks to them! Help prove me right Mumsnet that there is hope for me yet Grin

I have, mine was to always take my lunch break this year, and I have and some….

Yes! Me and my mate said we would wear odd socks for a year. We have each other one of all our pairs of socks, so that made it pretty easy. We were 18 and though it was hilarious!
I’ve never stuck to any resolutions made as an adult.

I like having them. Like you said, they provide me with a focus. Even if I don't stick to them for the whole year I still ten to end up with a positive change.

I once had a resolution to try a new recipe from my cookbooks once every two weeks. I didn't do it every fortnight but I did it enough to try a number of new meals and I still use my cookbooks more often as a result.

Yes!
I’ve written in my diary every day for a year.
I’ve also worn sunscreen every day.

Yes lots, I like them. They are positive and fun things like 'learn to make x' or 'visit more museums' so not hard to do Grin

I kept 2/3 of my last one Grin Lost 2 stone instead of 3, but still quite happy with that.
