Reality check

I’m an adult and have my own children. Eldest is 7. My stepmum has just announced on fb that she is ‘going to be a nanna’. At least it isn’t my dad but I’m still feeling hurt, AIBU? Need a reality check that this isn’t actually important please mumsnet.

i would be tempted to write congratulations on the post OP, just to encourage her to reread what she wrote or follow up to you about "looking forward to another grandchild" or whatever.

Yeah, I get it OP.

My own mother & sister gushed about mother "becoming a great grandma!" on Faceache.

Fact is, mother had already been a great grandma for 4 years ... but apparently, as my beloved DD didn't spring from my loins, she & my grandchild don't count ...

Fuck 'em & their gushing sentiments.

I would find that very hurtful on behalf of my children
