To ask why this needs to be eaten immediately after defrosting?

M and S lemon meringue roulade. I thought you usually get 24 hours to eat frozen desserts after defrosting. They have a raspberry roulade which says, eat same day and Sainsbury’s have a berry one which is use within 24 hours. So why is the lemon one different?

YABU don’t eat it, terrible things will happen

YANBU eat it, ir will be fine

It'll get soggy?

Same day is 24 hours more or less

Watto1 · 26/12/2021 14:14

Like a pp said, it’ll be because it’ll go soggy, rather than because it’ll become unsafe to eat.

It won't be at it's best-it will probably collapse. It will taste ok but not look great.

The fruits are more watery than lemon curd style filling. They may stain the roulade and will make it more soggy.

As with many of these things it is all down to the texture of the food rather than a safety issue.

Thanks, will give it a go then.
