Anyone else agrees that now I can really enjoy the Festivities. All preparation , gifts, groceries, visiting and cooking is over and I can put my pj's on, relax, watch TV, eat all around me and enjoy Christmas. No school or work for 1 week so am now officially on Christmas modeπŸ™‚πŸΎ

YES πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

HemlockStarglimmer · 25/12/2021 17:47

Sounds fab! Merry Christmas πŸŽ„

Knitter99 · 25/12/2021 17:49

I'm the same. Presents done, fancy food done, visiting done. Now we can just lie around and enjoy ourselves.

LeedleLee · 25/12/2021 18:12

Yes! Christmas dinner has been cooked and eaten, presents unwrapped, washing up has been done. Now we're sitting on the sofa watching Christmas films and eating chocolate. DP and I are both off work until the 4th now. Bliss!

mollymcguire · 25/12/2021 18:12

Same jammies on, house tidy all fed and watered, it's my time now!

CouldBeHere · 25/12/2021 18:13

Yes!

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 25/12/2021 18:13

Yes! Guests have gone home and small children about to sleep. Pjs, snuggling under duvet and leftovers. Yum.

Also get to dissect my pain of a family with DH to discuss all the ways they wound me up today πŸ˜†

BelleNoir · 25/12/2021 18:14

Yes , absolutely I've got changed into my Shibumi robe, gin in hand and putting my feet up ❀️

lebkuchenforxmas · 25/12/2021 18:20

Mine started about 4 hours ago. I do most of the prep for Xmas in our house including meals on Xmas Eve and starters at midday on Xmas Day which we have with champagne. As soon as that cork is popped, I am done!

LeQuern · 25/12/2021 18:30

I started cooking at 8am (breakfast). And then lunch at 11.

2.30pm (30 mins before serving), my mother β€˜you’re always so stressed cooking - I don’t know why you agree to do it’.

FUCK OFF! Of course I’m stressed 30 mins before serving up 15 fucking dishes plus gravy! FUCK OFF AGAIN!

AND - may I add - no one, not a single person, not a fucking one - offered to get me a drink. Not one. Not once.

I am now a bottle of Β£30 red down (and I did not allow any other fucker a single fucking glass of it).

Christmas starts on the 27th when I get home.

Vinotinto78 · 25/12/2021 18:39

Currently decompressing in my stretchy trousers with a bottle of Sauvignon. I’m not a marathon runner, but I feel how I imagine someone crossing the finish line must feel. Well done us! Now everyone in the house and extended family can fuck off until January. Actually, February.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 25/12/2021 18:55

Yes I love Christmas afternoon/evening once dinner is finished and the washing up is done and put away.

DS has disappeared somewhere with his laptop, DH is snoring on the sofa, I'm watching Death in Paradise and eating After Eights washed down with red wine.

Merry Christmas! Xmas Smile

julesover40 · 25/12/2021 19:10

Me too. DP does all the cooking, but i do most of the cleaning, house prep, pressie buying & wrapping and of course Santa duty. Just finished tidying and changed into pjs, prosecco poured, chocs soon to be opened. Kids happy, and a whole 8 days off work to relax, enjoy, read, walk and recharge x

GozerTheGozerian · 25/12/2021 19:13

Ahhh just had this exact discussion with DH. When I was younger I loved Christmas Eve and all of the anticipation. I hated Boxing Day as was sad it was all over.

Now Christmas Eve is a proper stress and Boxing Day is my idea of heaven. Everything done, no work, house full of delicious food and drink. Love it!!!!

Isababybel · 25/12/2021 19:16

My little dd has been very overwhelmed by the excitement of Christmas so its been a full on day with her with lots of whining. She is now fast asleep.. so yes its now time for dh and i to enjoy the rest of the day and actually sit down!! Merry Christmas Wine

AnSionnachGlic · 25/12/2021 19:59

So glad I'm not the only one! Just finished a lovely snooze, heading down stairs for a big glass /bottle of red, cheese , chocs and.....RELAXπŸ™‚

I love Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but Boxing Day is my day to relax after all the stress of making Christmas happen. Leftovers for eating tomorrow, lots of good food and lots of cake and chocolate. I’m having a lie in with my book and they can all sort themselves out.

Kids are in bed now having been up most of last night, so I’m going to settle down with a movie and some nice cheese and wine.

ouchmyfeet · 25/12/2021 20:23

I am not there just yet. 36 hours till my house guests FUCK OFF HOME and Christmas can start for me. Every year I say I'm not doing it again. No fucker even helps wash up.

Robin233 · 25/12/2021 20:43

Got to say I agree
Went all out in fancy food this year.
It was delicious but a lot of work.
Sat watching back to the outback with ds and dh.
Food and drink and relaxing.

Xmasprrssiehelp · 25/12/2021 20:45

I am wearing my new fleece lined leggings and watching trie crime documentaries on YouTube with a glass of wine. Grin

Obsidiansphere · 25/12/2021 20:49

Yes…home from visiting, pjs on and a Brew, chill time Smile

WildRosie · 25/12/2021 20:50

I've got three 12 hour night shifts starting tomorrow at 5pm. Wish me luck, somebody. I really can't be arsed.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 25/12/2021 20:54

The kids are in bed (they didn't sleep well last night and DS struggled from about 3), my sister is gone home. The dishwasher is on, and the leftovers are safely stashed away from the cats. The sitting room is a sea of presents and I don't care. DH and I are sitting down with arancino gin and tonic and macarons, and the world can feck off Xmas Grin

TheWelshposter · 25/12/2021 21:35

Yes yes yes. We have visited and hosted and made Christmas magical for four children and now everyone is away home or in bed.
Wine opened, pjs on and cannot wait for the next few days to relax now all the stress and cooking is over.

StickyProblem · 25/12/2021 21:53

Good luck with your shifts @WildRosie and the rest of your work Christmas @ouchmyfeet ! I love love love Boxing Day, no pressure, nothing to sort out, and cheese, pate and crackers for tea Smile
