At the beginning of December I hadn’t weighed myself for a while and didn’t think I’d put on that much weight, but all my clothes were feeling tight (especially jeans). I weighed myself and was a bit shocked to see I’d put on nearly a stone since I weighed myself in September. This was a bit of an issue because I’ve been too skint this month to buy new clothes
.
I was also very aware Christmas was coming and I thought I could easily come out of the other side of the festive season having added another half a stone to that.
So I started mostly low carbing on the 2nd, and being pretty religious about the 16:8 thing, so only eating within an 8 hour window and then a 16 hour gap before I ate again. I haven’t exercised at all although I was meaning to, I have CFS and haven’t been feeling up to it although I do usually 8-10000 steps a day just doing day to day stuff.
I say mostly low carbing because I have cheated (a fair bit really). My bf was visiting for 5 days and we ate out every evening, and I have had the odd bar of chocolate. I’ve also had at least one can of cider each night, sometimes two. Oh and a couple of Greggs now I think of it. So it really hasn’t been too painful, I’ve just been pretty careful with the carbs the rest of the time. I’ve never tried the 16:8 thing before and I’m sure that’s what has made the difference.
Not a stealth brag but I’m genuinely really surprised as I’ve never managed to lose weight so quickly or successfully. More of a festive message of hope for anyone thinking about losing weight after Christmas excesses.
