AIBU to lie in bed?

Broke up with fiancé yesterday, self-isolating by myself Christmas Day. Circulating all social media to make me feel better. Haven’t cooked (I had low appetite anyway because of covid). Not sure what to watch (as I was sick all week & watched so much stuff). Please cheer me up, I’m not usually this miserable!

Find a boxset you love and binge watch that.

Stay in bed.

Eat what you want.

You don’t have to ‘do’ Christmas if you’re not up to it.

I'm in bed with the radio on and a cup of tea. Just try and relax. I'm sorry about your break up, poor timing.

MissBridgetJones · 25/12/2021 11:40

Well it sounds fabulous to me, minus the covid and recent break-up (unless of course the breakup is a good thing and you feel utterly liberated)?

Ted Lasso is binge worthy and once the step kids have gone to their mums this afternoon I shall watch the whole of the Emily in Paris series, with a hot choc made with my new velvetiser whilst eating a wedge of stilton....

Stay toasty in bed x

If I was able to then yes I absolutely would still be in bed right now!

However, my kids are currently bouncing off the walls so I am hoping for a quick nap later!

Enjoy your peaceful day!

I'm going to be honest, if it wasn't good weather here [sunny and warm], I'd be in bed too.

I'm just going out to rake some soil that the OH has moved this morning.

I'll be on the sofa this evening with a quilt, after cooking just a bog standard normal dinner.

The thing about Christmas is that everyone gets to hyped up about it and then when it isn't perfect they beat themselves up about it.

Oooh! I might watch Emily in Paris. Started watching it yesterday. Wasn’t sure if I could watch another box set/movie after the million I watched this week (when I was happy to be at home snug in bed minus the covid). And then this.

Sounds fab (the weather and all). I’d go for a walk if I could be bothered. Self-isolating though & the most is do is to the end of the street & back but can’t be bothered.

I just put some food in the oven..so that I can be human and eat something at least.

Crap timing & lots of time to think and ‘aha’ moments amid a little bit of crying & feeling sorry for myself.

We were engaged for nearly 3 yrs; I said if we are not married (or at least planning it) by April then it isn’t it.

Alas, just realised that we couldn’t have got married in April anyway unless we were proactively planning from now at least (which we weren’t).

Stay in bed. I’m so sorry about your break up. I’ve been in bed the last 2 days with covid and I don’t plan to move. Make the most of it.

Find a box set to loose yourself in or a book.

Order a take away? There must be some open. I just looked on just eat because I was curious. Seems to be about 30 open in my town and Flowersfor you x

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 25/12/2021 12:53

It’s my first time having Christmas without the kids who are with their dad. I’m with all adult family, so have had a lie in til 10.30, a run and now having a bath! We have lunch very late so will be lending a hand in a minute Wink

Booklover3 · 25/12/2021 12:53

Sorry I missed that you aren’t hungry. What about booking yourself a treatment or a spa for when you feel better?

Thank you 💕 really appreciate everyone’ kind messages!

I had food to put in the oven but was sitting in my sorrow not wanting to do much. Have now put the Christmas food in the oven & have eaten.

Sitting watching Emily in Paris now (out of my bed & downstairs) & reading MN threads to make me laugh.
