To think this isn’t normal?

3 days ago I had the WORST pain, like trapped wind and arse daggers. Couldn’t even sit on the toilet without crying. Lying on my side and taking painkillers made it calm down a bit but could still feel it.

Since then the pain has subsided to a dull cramp and the occasional arse daggers. It feels like I’m full but I’m still (ahem) going to the toilet so it’s not constipation. I need a wee about every half hour too.

Can’t get hold of my doctors and haven’t been able to for days, don’t really want to bother the hospital, but just a bit stuck. Is it normal? Has anyone else experienced it?

So worried I won’t be able to enjoy Christmas food as I feel like I’m full (and bloated too) but not sure what the best course of action is?!

Appreciate this isn’t a 111 service in AIBU but also don’t know whether it is something I should seek medical help for or hope it goes away on its own?

Thanks

Forgot to mention that on the first day of all this I was sweating, feverish and threw up too.

Not on my period, not pregnant so don’t think it’s anything to do with that either.

I have no advice, but am having the exact same symptoms. I even took a pregnancy test because I felt so out of sorts (it was negative).

I hope you feel better soon

NellieBertram · 24/12/2021 10:48

Have you tried calling 111?

Anothernamechanger21 · 24/12/2021 10:51

Oh that’s strange @nellytheelephantscircus - I wonder if there’s some weird stomach blocking bug going around.

And @NellieBertram I requested a callback yesterday morning but nothing yet - I assume they’re up to their eyeballs.

That sounds awful. Hope you feel better soon.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 24/12/2021 10:56

As it's getting better I wouldn't worry too much but if it flares up again I'd seek proper advice.

Notimeforaname · 24/12/2021 10:57

I know you say you're not constipated but there could be a small blockage as you're feeling so full.

If you could, for today, could you stick to a 'liquid' diet? Just having thin soup/juice/water to see if it helps anything before tomorrow?

I hope you feel better soon op!!

CandleWick4 · 24/12/2021 10:59

So this happens to me when I eat corn. I get bloated, sore, and arse daggers that are insane. Could you maybe have eaten something you have an intolerance to?

SpellBounds · 24/12/2021 10:59

How odd. Maybe try a senakot etc see if they clears you up. Have you done a covid test? You said the first day was feverish etc - people often get upset stomachs with covid. If you do seek medical help they'll probably ask you up front if you've done a PCR.

Theunamedcat · 24/12/2021 10:59

Try buscapam I get ibs like this

Actually, that's a very good point and constipation makes you feel feverish too.
RoastedParsnips · 24/12/2021 11:00

Sickness bug? Intorelance to certain foods? Maybe? Are you drinking enough water?

hauntedvagina · 24/12/2021 11:01

The fact that you're weeing so often sounds odd. Call 111 for advice.

beetuljoos · 24/12/2021 11:02

Have some peppermint tea and see if it helps.

Tinylittlecabbages · 24/12/2021 11:03

UTI?

Haggisfish3 · 24/12/2021 11:05

I was thinking uti.

Ewock · 24/12/2021 11:09

Those are pretty much the symptoms I get with a UTI. The pain can be nasty. Ring 111

rattlemehearties · 24/12/2021 11:11

If I were you I'd call 111. The symptoms sound similar to how I felt on and off with appendicitis.

Motherofcats007 · 24/12/2021 11:12

Can you pop into the pharmacy before they close today? They might be able to help

icedcoffees · 24/12/2021 11:14

UTI - especially with the constant weeing.

You need medical advice IMO.

Lou98 · 24/12/2021 11:15

The only times I've had similar have been when I was pregnant and when I had a UTI. I would definitely try speaking to a Doctor today if you can

Politics4me · 24/12/2021 11:22

Collect some urine in a clear container, it should be clear.
If cloudy or very yellow probably an infection.
Any blood in faeces?
These are questions you might be asked by 111 or pharmacist or doctor.

MisgenderedSwan · 24/12/2021 11:27

I had an ovarian cyst that was like this. I managed to drop dd at nursery sweating and gasping - I honestly thought I might be in serious trouble. Got in to see the doctor and they sent me straight for an urgent scan. It burst after a day or so - I felt like I had been shot then the pain resolved slowly. I would contact your gp

Anothernamechanger21 · 24/12/2021 11:29

Have actually just checked my urine and it is cloudy. Will try 111 again, thank you.

Do you have a Walk In near you? I'd give there and ask them to test your urine.
