About this book as a gift?

DP and I have a one year old DD.

I buy my Christmas presents well in advance mostly. This year one of the gifts for DP is Ellie Taylor’s book “My Child and Other Mistakes”, which is a humorous look at parenthood, pregnancy, etc. DP follows Ellie Taylor on a Instagram and finds her content funny.

Quite recently DP and I decided not to have a second child. It wasn’t an easy decision because in an ideal world we would. However, there are loads of factors against us - age, finances, space, etc. DP has said it’s something she’ll need time to come to terms with.

In that context, I don’t think it’s a good idea to gift the book given its title and content. It seems insensitive. Or am I worrying too much?

If she's not yet ok with not having a second child don't give it to her.

Yeah that’s my thinking. She has other gifts, not worth causing upset.

It's a shame because it actually looks like a really good book but I definitely think it's one of those you need to be certain of before you gift it
