Apprentice but it seemed too quick to say at the end of an interview the job is yours.everything by phone no face to face video. I hope it is all ok but “nagging doubt” is on my shoulders.

What do you think is going to happen to him OP?

Sparklesocks · 23/12/2021 19:33

Presumably because apprentice is such an entry level/junior role they aren’t looking for someone with experience or background in banking - just someone with a good attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Maybe your son just ticked all of those boxes and they knew right away they wanted to offer it to him?

oldstudentmum · 24/12/2021 18:27

Thanks I was just worried and yes he does tick all the boxes. He is very good at customer service. He still hasn’t had a contract through so he is going to wait til then to hand his notice in on current job. Thanks guys xx merry Christmas

Hello! Ex-MB here (left to go freelance). The approach for low-level roles like apprentices is “hire for attitude, train for skill” - if he has good customer service, he doesn’t need experience!

Metro Bank is great. Well done to your son!

I know someone who works for Metro bank in a fairly senior post. They're hemorrhaging staff and finding it very difficult to recruit, so it's entirely possible that they're offering to everyone who scores "adequately" in interviews.
