To ask why this thrush has come back again?!

Had thrush last week so bought the canesten pessary and cream combo which cleared it immediately, but woke up this morning and I'm all itchy again 😢

It says on nhs website only go to GP if you've had it 4 times in a year so I'm turning to Mumsnet! Why has it come back again?? This is so annoying!! I'm not sexually active and generally wear cotton knickers, not too tight clothes etc. before this I haven't had thrush in years. It's not too severe, it's just irritating

Don't know why it's come back, but I just came on to say I had a bout of reoccurring thrush in early 40s that I'd never had previously when younger. Not sure if it was because I was generally feeling run down, but was also not sexually active and wore cotton underwear etc.

Spent loads on Cansten over the counter treatments but kept coming back. Finally went to GP who prescribed a course of treatment and it cleared up.

I'd go out and get some more Cansten now to get you through Christmas, and if comes back again then make a GP appointment.
