Email HELP please!!!!!!!

Does anyone have any idea how to get a IPhone 12 to start sending emails again? It’s receiving them fine but won’t send them 😩 I’ve googled and googled and done the ‘outgoing server SMTP password’ thing but they still won’t send!!!

Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks!

Forgive the cliche, but…. Have you tried turning it off and on again?! Whenever mine is playing up, this sorts it.

Also, are all software updates installed?

Have you tried removing the email app and reinstalling it? Are you using the mail app or the actual gmail/hotmail app? Maybe swap?

Yep, turned it off and on again, all software is up to date…even reinstalled the email but the emails are still sitting there 😩 it’s happened before and it was easily solved by re typing my password in the outgoing server bit….

It’s not being quite so accommodating this time though 🙄

Maybe delete the app and the do a hard reset on your iPhone - quickly press the volume up button followed by a quick press off the volume down button and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears once phone has restarted download app again and enter details. Hard reset is safe to do it will not remove any data etc

You might just need to wait, mine does this occasionally and then fixes itself after a while without me putting a password in. I think the email/server just gets a bit glitchy at times.

If desperate to send emails, can you go on the email website itself e.g Hotmail or yahoo website and log in to send them rather than using the email app?

Are you using the iPhone mail app, a web browser or a specific app provided by the email provider? Eg with Gmail you can use all three options. If one is failing, try another. For instance if you can't send using the iPhone mail app but going to mail.google.com in Safari works fine, then it's your iPhone mail app settings. If neither work it's likely to be a problem with the email provider itself.
