Posting for traffic

I have another thread up about my FIL being in hospital who are prohibiting visits from tomorrow. Both MIL and FIL not brilliant with technology.

On that post someone kindly suggested 2 smart phones I could get 2 quickly on say , Amazon sent to them but have no idea which would be good for them. Being elderly and a bit clumsy they will need larger screen ones. Also if they are video calling not sure if pay as you go would be sensible although both have Wi-Fi access so probably not an issue .

Can anyone recommend a suitable model ?

Doro phones are meant to be good for elderly who are not used to technology. Whatsapp can then be used for video calls.
You'll probably need to set them up though.
e.g. Doro 8050. (previous models 8040, 8035).
Or you could look for a couple of unlocked nearly new phones from say webuy.com and then get a couple of month at a time SIMs on pay monthly for about £7-8 per month.

But if you get a phone too old it may not be compatible with newer Android versions (10 is current I think).
My FIL tried to get Whatsapp but his old phone wouldn't upgrade from Android 6 and therefore not compatible with current version of the app.

Or you could get push button phones and they can just talk as normal. as my MIL says "I know what he looks like" Grin
