Count yourself lucky they didn’t just abandon it on the doorstep without any attempt to contact you, or hide it behind the bins without leaving any indication that’s what they’ve done so you only find it when you put the bins out! No prizes for guessing what’s happened here.

@Twitchynose I came home to one on the doorstep the other day. My daughter had been in all day!

The doorbell scares the shit out of me more than knocking. Doorbell will also wake dc up from nap and terrify the bejesus out of the cats. The cats run away and hide on top of cupboards for a few hours.

I've had them open the front door before and walk into the hallway! Door is usually locked at all times but that particular day I had been in and out to the car.

GrimDamnFanjo · 21/12/2021 17:47

One this morning didn't knock at all just left it n the doorstep. Then I got a text telling me it was in my "safe place."

Same here. The Hermes delivery person who mostly does our estate always just leaves them on the doorstep without knocking to see if your in. I know because for the last 2 years I have mostly been at home (obviously) and so I am just a few feet from the door so would definitely hear if they knocked. Usually the first I know is when I get an email to say my parcel has been delivered, open the door and there it is

This wasn’t just knocking, it was palm of hand smashing on my window, which is round the side of the house. I was cooking and just about shit myself to see a massive bloke hammering on my window!

I’ll settle for checking it’s the right house. I’ve had three delivered next door by mistake recently.

At least they didn't leave it on the footpath outside the automatic gates of a nearby driveway as an Amazon delivery was left.
I couldn't just walk on by as it might be nicked so I got the next door neighbour to take it in.
I didn't want to chuck it over the high gate as there could have been something fragile in it.
It literally was sitting there on the pavement- it might as well have a sign on it saying "Steal me"

My deliveries are just dumped on my front porch step. The doorbell is not rung. Angry
