Just went to the fridge to grab a few pieces of celery to munch on. Broke a few stalks off and a couple were littered with some kind of poo 🤢 --> 🐛?

AIBU to throw the dirty stalks in the bin?

Isn’t it just mud? I’d always wash celery anyway, just rinse it, veggies are often a bit grubby.

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/12/2021 22:36

Sure. Just wash it.

MamaWeasel · 19/12/2021 22:37

Definitely, just wash it. And check your salad drawer for caterpillars, they're prolific poopers!

Merryoldgoat · 19/12/2021 22:47

Surely that’s earth?

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 19/12/2021 22:50

It was definitely poop.

That’s snail or slug poo! Just wash it off.

Comedycook · 19/12/2021 22:51

Celery is vile stuff...shit covered celery is even worse. I'd chuck it

GroggyLegs · 19/12/2021 22:53

Vegetables are grown in soil & manure.
Give it a rinse.

MadeOfStarStuff · 19/12/2021 22:53

I wouldn’t eat it

It might actually improve the taste.

saleorbouy · 19/12/2021 22:56

Wash it and carry on, it's likely to have grown in animal manure especially if it's organic so I wouldn't get too precious!

Crinkle77 · 19/12/2021 23:39

Yeah just wash it or if you don't fancy eating it raw make a soup out of it.

JustBkind · 19/12/2021 23:40

Personally, I would throw it!

Notajogger · 19/12/2021 23:41

Just wash it off, it's fine

Twillow · 19/12/2021 23:42

Snail or slug. I would throw it and I'm not that fussy!
