29th birthday solo ideas?

Quirkyme · 19/12/2021 20:55

Hello,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a solo 29th birthday?

My birthday is just after mid-March, and I'd like to do something nice. I generally like spa weekends (or longer), I like to hike, travel etc.

If anyone has any recommendation for a solo bday getaway, maybe particular spa getaways, or places to travel (although difficult in the current climate), hike etc... Or any other ideas, it'd be much appreciated.

Or maybe you did a solo thing for your 29th?

Thanks

X

Are you thinking go away for a couple of nights? I would book a posh hotel, either central London or countryside, depending on what I was in the mood for. I'd arrive as early as they let me, having either done shopping and museums or local walking/sightseeing beforehand. Check in, have a nap, long bath or use spa, nice dinner and then glorious sleep

What type of budget do you have, for how long and how far are you willing to travel?

Spa break definitely! Have you tried the galgorm? (Might be a bit far if you don’t want to travel!) It’s gorgeous and you could go to the giants causeway too dependent on the weather! I always end up going with family but my dream is to sit high on the cliff on a bench with a flask and a good book.

Hello!

Budget is open and flexible to be honest, I don't mind how far , getting away (as I'm away and not where I live ie normal life) would be great, not avoiding travel (as in abroad but seems up in the area). How long - again flexible I'll be on leave so pretty open to length!

I wish I could remember the details but there was a long time ago a feature in a paper about a library / hotel, and it was a beautiful old building, a hotel, filled with books and the shared spaces designed for people to just sit and read... I would love To go there if I could find it!

Ooh I’d go to a really nice hotel with a book and order room service Grin.

But if you want to get out and about, Northumberland is beautiful! You could easily spend a day wondering around Holy Island Plus you can visit Bamborough beach and castle, or hike some of Hadrian’s wall.

Enjoy your birthday!

Spa break for sure. I’ve got a March birthday and I’ll be doing the same thing. Looking at spa hotels in the lakes currently .

Hello!

No never heard of it, going to check it out, it does sound divine. It's a luxury spa which I quite like! I don't mind how far whatever I do is tbh! Thanks for the suggestion I'm definitely going to give it a look in more detail.

How long do you usually stay for, you said you usually go with family so might be different, any recommendation on length you'd say?

I’d go to danesfeild house and hunker down with spa treatments, great food and books!
