De’Longhi Magnifica = YABU

Sage Barista Express = YANBU

If you have used either of these, which one would you rate? Brew

@toastofthetown just seen your reply, thank you so much for taking the time to measure the temperature.

I have the Sage Barista Express and I absolutely love it. When you know how to use it, it produces perfect coffee!

The Sage Barista isn’t a bean to cup though. It’s a proper barista machine. Which means you have to get the correct grind size, the correct tamp pressure etc.
IMO, a good bean to cup will give you really very good coffee… but only a barista can get you perfect coffee.

I don’t use my Barista every day though - I have a nespresso machine for that. The barista is for a ‘treat’ as it can be a bit of a faff. But I like the ritual of making coffee in it.

I have a Delonghi machine too. It is fab and according to Italian ILs it produces the correct amount of foam for expressos.

We've got a £20 one from Morrisons. It makes lovely filter coffee.

Sage Barista Express. I waited until it was on offer. It is used everyday and has saved a fortune in visits to the coffee shop drive through.
It makes fabulous hot chocolate too.

If you are interested in a Sage machine, they have a 25% discount on their website with LCF25. Not affiliated with Sage (I wish!) but used that to get the Smart Grinder for just over £100 earlier this month and it looks like it's still active.

The newsletter for this coffee blog will also pass on any discounts which I found very useful when purchasing, and he has many useful coffee machine review videos on YouTube. James Hoffmann also has series on best espresso machine under £XXX and best bean to cup.

We have the barista express and wouldn’t be without it. Sure it’s a tad noisy, but it makes a great coffee so it’s worth it.

Sage.

We discuss all purchases over about £150ish, and when DH suggested it early into first lockdown, I absolutely forbade him to spend that kind of money.

I've never vetoed any purchase suggested by him before, but he didn't listen. And throughout working from home, and every morning since, I've been very grateful for that! 😂
