To think it would be better if Amazon delivered the LFT

I mean FGS! I've ordered 3 lots of lateral flows this week - none of which have arrived.

I've got a bloody household case and we're all meant to be testing daily following negative PCRs but they're not turning up.

The order is confirmed and then I get a confirmation email saying they should have arrived but they haven't.

I even did a pharmacy pick up code only to get there and be told they didn't have any.

It's a joke now. Wanting people to test daily and then not providing the means to do so,

OP posts:

Not really I've ended up with two Christmas trees because I thought the first one wasn't going to turn up and then the second one went astray too. Both Amazon.

Amazon are starting to deliver lat flows from this week as well as Royal Mail. Think the problem is the actual supply. I ordered some yesterday online and they came with my post today, they aren't the usual brand though it's one I've never seen before.

GAW19 · 18/12/2021 22:38

I couldn't even order any online, said there wasn't any available at all.
Went to out local boots and they had non. Lucky the shopping centre opposite our house had a pop up stall with them. Everyone must have needed them though as they had to wait for a new delivery a few times today

SheWoreYellow · 18/12/2021 22:39

We had pcrs from Amazon about six months ago I think.

nancy75 · 18/12/2021 22:43

I’m their defence I have been ordering a box a week for the last few weeks & they have always arrived the next day, this week is the first time I’ve had to wait (ordered Tuesday arrived today)
Demand has obviously gone through the roof in the last 10 days but hopefully they will get it sorted quickly

Is it a darker blue box, with flow something written on it? If so, they are just the nasal swabs and not the nasal and throat ones. Much more easier to do.
Riv · 18/12/2021 22:59

Non available here at all- been trying to get some for over a week. Tried on line too. Got 3 QR codes for local pick up but non available at any pick up place within 30 miles I’ve rung around at least twice a day. Finally got one ordered three days ago but it’s not arrived yet.

Is it a way of keeping us from meeting friends or going out to work? We don’t meet up unless we’ve had a LFT.

notapineapple · 18/12/2021 23:03

@Lizlou85 they are just nose ones but they are in a green and white box

Sounds like Orient Gene ones. I have them and flowflex ones

onedayoranother · 19/12/2021 00:13

We have plenty as I've got school aged child who gets regular supply.
I do wish Amazon delivered mail though - we get a Royal Mail delivery about once a week! I'm still missing magazine subscriptions due early December and things take about two weeks first class!

Bubblty · 19/12/2021 00:46

Love my royal mail service no issues

madisonbridges · 19/12/2021 01:37

Amazon is fucking amazing. I had 3 parcels delivered to the village post office this morning. I showed one email and then rxpected to have to show the other two like you do with ebay. But no, Amazon had the parcels all put together and attached from my one email like they do in the lockers. In and back out to howling dog in no time.

I ❤ Amazon and think if they ran the country, we'd be so organised. Social policies might be a bit tough, but we'd all have masks!

WakeyWakey123 · 19/12/2021 02:12

Yeah you are not BU.

FatOaf · 19/12/2021 02:49

I'm in the same position, OP. I've been trying all week but none of the pharmacies have any. Apparently they get one box of kits mid-morning most (not all) days and they're all gone by about 1:30 pm. I can only go out before 8:30 am or after 6 pm because of work. There have been none available to order online for delivery.

We're being told to self-test before going anywhere to mix with other people but this isn't possible.

Gubanc · 19/12/2021 03:05

No, it wouldn't. Amazon is a shit employer and extremely bad for the environment and has done enough damage to retailers already.

ElftonWednesday · 19/12/2021 03:35

Neither of those things are true.

ThettaReddast · 19/12/2021 05:32

Royal Mail has always done a great job here, always had next day delivery up until the ones I ordered this week which took two days. Think that’s more a demand issue, more lfts to deliver at an already busy time of the year, rather than Royal Mail being shit.

Bigassbeebuzzbuzz · 19/12/2021 05:37

I managed to get a pack sent out this week. But struggling to get hold of any more. Dont understand why I have to have a code to pick the tests up though.
I'm not doing them for shits and giggles Confused

StruggleStreet · 19/12/2021 05:45

YANBU OP. There are lots of reasons not to use Amazon, but they’re bloody efficient.

aramox1 · 19/12/2021 05:59

I'm just grateful we can get them tbh. Look at the US and Canada, no home tests and long queues to do them

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 19/12/2021 07:39

Amazon SAY they'll deliver everything on a certain time frame but if they think they can't for whatever they then pass it on to Royal Mail who have an obligation to actually fulfill the contract and then get the flack if they can't get it there on time.
So Amazon look good but really they're just passing their overflow onto RM at what is already their worst time of year even without covid on top.

girlmom21 · 19/12/2021 07:46

I dunno they 'handed parcel to resident' yesterday which was left outside my front door and they didn't even ring the bell when they left it. It could've fitted through the postbox.

The tests are like gold dust so they're more likely to be nicked than Xmas presents atm Grin

It’s to match your details to the test.
onedayoranother · 19/12/2021 08:40

No @ThettaReddast around here it certainly is crap. SW London and like I said a whole week could go by and no mail - not even a piece of junk. Then I get a bumper delivery. In fact they are so pathetic I got a traffic ticket (driving in a restricted school zone mid August - I thought it was just term time) and it was delivered so late I had not only missed the 'pay half within 14 days' but the appeal deadline too! All my friends complain of birthday cards arriving three weeks after the day even though posted well ahead.
After paying 85p for a first class stamp it's pathetic that it takes seven days or longer to arrive.

Billandben444 · 19/12/2021 08:57

If there aren't tests available then it doesn't matter whether it's the postie or Amazon not delivering them, does it?
