To ask who the hell uses those stupid round plasters...

... and why is there so many of them in the box?

I've just sliced my finger with a razor. Gone to get a plaster and it's just filled with those stupid round ones. What even are they for? Surely they stay on nothing? Or at least a very odd specific cut? So why so many?

Madness. Just fill the box with the sensible rectangular ones which do everything!

to cover up spots?

the vaccination centre here uses the round ones.

Svara · 18/12/2021 19:26

I use them on my hands. Rectangular ones don't fit on knuckles etc.

purplesequins · 18/12/2021 19:26

I only ever buy the knee/elbow sized ones.

Heruka · 18/12/2021 19:27

I just put one on 3yr old DD earlier who was whining about a tiny little graze!

vampirestockingfiller · 18/12/2021 19:28

I use them for thorns in my fingers if I've been in the allotment

Makeuplover · 18/12/2021 19:29

Hello OP. I agree with you as my Autistic daughter picked her skin and didn't like the look of that so when we ran out of plasters, we had to run to the shops and buy more! The only use I can think of is maybe your foot if you got a small cut xx.

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 18/12/2021 19:30

And they stay on?

If I don't wrap a plaster round so it essentially sticking to itself it flirts off within seconds.

Maybe I've just got really weird liquid hands Confused

I can't be the only one who finds them insane... surely?

Aren't they for blisters?

Mama1980 · 18/12/2021 19:32

Injections, when I have to inject myself they are perfect for covering the tiny hole that sometimes bleeds a little.

Svara · 18/12/2021 19:33

I actually only find the rectangular ones to be good around fingers. Round ones are good to protect small abrasions, a grazed knee or elbow and you want a big square one that's sealed all around to cover the whole graze.

FangsForTheMemory · 18/12/2021 19:34

My mother used to call them corn plasters.

GoodVibesHere · 18/12/2021 19:34

I have often wondered the same OP! Have never used a little round one in all my life.

icedcoffees · 18/12/2021 19:34

I use them for when I've cut myself shaving.

Svara · 18/12/2021 19:34

And they stay on?
The fabric ones do. I don't use the plastic ones as they fall off and have no stretch.

purplesequins · 18/12/2021 19:36

the knee and elbow ones are misnamed imo far too small for gravel rash on the knee.

CharlotteRose90 · 18/12/2021 19:37

I use them after blood tests which I have plenty off 😂. Well used in my house sadly

Oatsamazing · 18/12/2021 19:43

I recently discovered the H shaped ones are for finger tips. I always used 2 rectangular ones before that, one over the tip and one around to secure it. Never used the round ones.

TheOriginalEmu · 18/12/2021 19:44

I agree op. Stupid waste of time 😂

TyrannosaurusRegina · 18/12/2021 19:47

Oh they stay on like glue! I had to about pull my skin off with it when I tried to get it off after my vaccination!

WinniePig · 18/12/2021 19:56

For blisters. Super useful on toes especially after dancing on pointe.

Staffy1 · 18/12/2021 20:01

I agree. They are usually too small for anything and fall off so easily. Useless things.

x2boys · 18/12/2021 20:07

@FangsForTheMemory

My mother used to call them corn plasters.
Are they not different I have a vague memory of my grandma having corn plasters that looked a bit like polo mints 🤔
x2boys · 18/12/2021 20:09

I used to use them as a nurse when I was giving injections ,they are useful if a patient bleeds a little .

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 18/12/2021 20:13

Just for info I am only reading those who agree with me Wink

Those of you describing the .....deep breath ..... usefulness of them ... have been removed from my mind for the purposes of this thread Grin
