To ask you to find me more baby clothes like this?

Posting for traffic…inspired by earlier thread about what people hate in childrens clothes.

Finding it difficult to find clothes for my baby girl who is due imminently- lots of clothes very frou frou but we need some outfits for her rather than just sleepsuits as we have a load of weddings and christenings to go to.

We got this dress in a second hand haul and love it-it’s honestly my favourite thing we have for her! We would love more in a similar vein but it was from next and they don’t seem to have anything else like it.

Any suggestions welcomed!

My suggestion? Don't go buying outfits for weddings and christenings ahead of time- you've no idea what size she'll be. My DD was two sizes ahead of herself for most of her babyhood and never fitted newborn stuff. Buy as needed.

Looks a bit Skandi esque. Try Duns, Smafolk, Mini Rondini, Moromini, Maxomorra.

For a more traditional ditsy look at Mini Boden

ThreeKneeRepeater · 18/12/2021 07:56

This is very similar to dresses from Kite, Frugi or Mini Boden.

Daffodil77 · 18/12/2021 07:56

It's also worth looking at small businesses on Etsy and Instagram as they often have much more exciting prints.

BendingSpoons · 18/12/2021 07:56

You might get presents when the baby is born? That dress makes me think a bit of Boden, although that's partly due to the space theme, so they may have different prints. But worth a look.

Babies wear babygrow s when newborn as more comfy and you need to change them so often due to poo, wee and sick, it's just easier to change babygrow s. However when slightly older dresses like that I've seen in Boden, JoJo mama, kite and tbh the supermarkets too. Looks like a little bird one which has sadly gone but you can buy second hand. When walking frugi does skater dresses which are amazing. X

Jojo Maman Bebe often has lots of dresses etc… that aren’t too ‘from from’ like this www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/girls-navy-highland-cow-print-buttoned-dress-h1849.html

Gymborree! Only in the States now I think, so you'd have to pay import duty, but they are glorious. Beautiful clothes, well made, soft and hard wearing. DD wore them.all.the time.

Toastmost · 18/12/2021 08:07

I'd wait on buying actual outfits, you don't know what size she will be when you need them for, and honestly sleepsuits are the one. Absolutely loads of places do clothes like this, many have been listed already.

scrivette · 18/12/2021 08:07

DD had a similar dress given to her and it was from Next.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 18/12/2021 08:13

Look for handmade stuff, like theos threads on Facebook, you choose the style and fabric and they make it, I've had some gorgeous stuff at not too expensive either!

pinklillie · 18/12/2021 08:17

I'd try Vinted it's amazing for really decent barely worn baby clothes. I've just searched and found some lovely John Lewis/Next dresses for between £1.50-£4

MuchTooTired · 18/12/2021 08:20

eBay! I had loads of dresses/leggings/Sleepsuits like this for my DD when she was a baby. They were from Next, but secondhand.

Russell19 · 18/12/2021 08:21

Frugi dresses are similar to that

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 18/12/2021 08:25

Definitely look at small businesses on Instagram. Lovebeebaby_ has loads of amazing prints.

Ditsy79 · 18/12/2021 08:36

Polarn O. Pyret make lovely clothes, and I think they have a sale on at the moment

deathofastrawberry · 18/12/2021 08:53

eBay is amazing for baby clothes and I used to love getting a new bundle and looking through it all Grin got some really nice stuff too. There's so much on there and much better to buy second hand if you can.

JojobaFromOctober · 18/12/2021 09:06

You might like Villervalla.

Little Bird is back - at Next! Better quality and design than the Mothercare days imo.
bubblebath62636 · 18/12/2021 14:37

Seriously just buy white Sleepsuits, babies look gorgeous in them and you can/was bleach them.

MissLC · 21/12/2021 15:14

I just came across this advert on FB which reminded me of your post.
Love the dress that you've got already

I second Little Bird, now available in Next.

SquishySquirmy · 21/12/2021 15:30

Tu from Sainsbury's can be good for outfits which are nice, but not overly fussy/frou-frou. Like that dress.

Avarua · 21/12/2021 15:33

Crawling babies can't crawl in a dress. So don't buy dresses for that age/stage.
