Real quickie please- it’s me being rubbish but can anyone please clarify (I’ve tried Google to no avail)

Someone contacted me about an item I put on Gumtree this eve- she asked if I can post with Royal Mail, I said sure as long as she’s happy to pay postage (around £4)

She was happy with that so said she’d place the order & make payment straight away.

I received a link via WhatsApp from her for the payment- it’s a Royal Mail thing (I’ll try to attach).

Im sure it’s all above board but I don’t want to put my bank details in (to receive payment) as I don’t quite understand and I’ve never had this before? Think she’s getting impatient with me for checking it out…

Thanks both. Just raised my suspicions having to put my bank details in to receive payment.

Also she sent a 🤔 emoji when I hadn’t answered quickly enough (a few minutes) which I thought was rude!!

Getting angry with you also is a red flag to me - it's pressuring you to do it quicker!

I'd just noticed that it looks strange don't put your details in I think it's a scam

@Builderscrack it looks fake , send a message that you can't retrieve the funds therefore you can't send the item

It is a scam.

One last thing- when she first asked if I can post with Royal Mail, she posted this. Didn’t think to look at it at the time- does this seem fake too? (I’m thinking of use if ‘him’ for a start.. in this day and age 🤔-😃))

Definitely sounds like a scam, very worrying as I'm sure lots of people will be caught out by it

So I replied saying I’ve never had to input my bank details for a payment before so it seems like a scam. Their reply was

‘Ahahahah understandable, I already reported you to the police, my money was taken and you start to ignore me’.
