Oh Christmas Tree...

We've had the same one for about five years. It has to be put together using a complicated colour codes system that has faded, which my dodgy eyesight is having trouble with, and one of the feet is missing, so it has to be propped up. But - it's OUR Christmas Tree! So YABU = pull yer big girl pants on and keep going, woman! Or YANBU = nip to Home Bargains and get a nice easy to put up one.

You can normally find stand replacements which will help.

Also, craft shops sell tapes in a vast array of colours, so you could re-label the branches & holes.

I am a creature of habit so would keep the same tree for as long as possible. I enjoy seeing the same decorations year in and year out, including the tree!

@loudbatperson I know what you mean. I certainly won't be getting rid of the ornaments, especially the hand knitted Brussels sprout!

I wonder what you do with even more complicated scenarios, like left or right foot first into your slippers...

Beeinalily · 16/12/2021 13:08

No it's not too complicated @Unhomme, it's physically difficult for an old person with arthritis and bad eyesight. So stop being a dick, it's Christmas.

Keep and repair it OP. Sounds like an easy fix and it's one less large plastic item in landfill.

@BiologicalRealist I'm going to get my ds to have a try before I give up on it. Jury's out!
