Posting for traffic.
At the risk of confirming to the Mumsnet massive that all old folk are useless with technology, may I throw myself on your mercy and ask for help with this?
I want to forward an e-mail to Fred, which was sent to me by Mary.
The original email has an attachment.
I want to send the attachment ONLY, and leave out the rest of the message.
I know how to forward emails.
What I don't know is how to separate message from attachment.
Please help!

PS. Bear in mind you are speaking to a ludite.
Many thanks in anticipation.Blush

You need to save the document to your computer (or phone or whatever). Then send a brand new email and attach the document from the saved area. Smile

Hi, Just press forward instead of reply on the email. This will keep the attachment. Delete everything off the body of the email that you don't want. Write in whatever new message you want. Put in the email address and send.

Alternatively you could choose “forward” which would attach the attachment to a new email, and then delete the text of the email which was sent to you by Mary before writing your email to Fred. Means you don’t then have to save and reattach.

I open the email, select the attachment (just one click). Then right click select copy. Open the new email Fred and right click again and select paste.

Alternatively forward the emai but delete all the text from Mary before pressing send.

Thank you so much you kind, patient people.
The forward then delete method will be what I shall try.
I may be back!Wink
I am truly grateful and consider you all my children!
