Party two days before Christmas

DD aged 7 has been invited to a joint party for two classmates, both have invited her separately. It’s on 23rd December.

Usually I’d be excited to help DD choose presents but I am so rundown right now I just can’t be bothered. It’s a few days before Christmas, I am exhausted and actually working that day (party is 4-6pm so after work) and just don’t feel I have time for presents as well.

WIBU to stick £5 in each card? I feel bad but at the same time DD would love getting money they#re not very close friends so can’t go to more than £5 really.

I've been doing money in a card for years. £5 for classmates, £10 for closer friends.
There is just no need to stress yourself out buying a present that they might not like and will probably ignore or throw away. My DC love getting money for birthdays too.

Money is fine I think. Mine get the occasional £5 in a card and love it!

Money is fine, by that age they know all about spending money in shops. It’s not like a two year olds party.
