Staying away from partner

It is my friend's 30th birthday this weekend, and she lives 50 mins away from me. Partner has offered to drop me to hers and pick us up after the night out.

We both have to get up early as she has animals/ work and me & partner have xmas shopping to do.

I don't want my friend to feel like I am abandoning her, but at the same time, it saves me driving my hungover arse home on Sunday. Am I unreasonable or is this normal?

We went out last month and I stayed but she got up early and left me in bed whilst she did whatever she had to do, I left around midday. She is going through a break up atm so also don't want my relationship to be in her face. Opinions please!

Probably best not to drive when hungover, you may well still be over the limit.

So yes I would get partner to pick you up.
