To be hacked off with eBay?

Just lost out again on toys on ebay. So pissed off with it. I was winning at the end for a bundle ds really wants, a fair price, the app said I'd won at the end, then I get an email saying I'd lost out. It wasn't that I didn't get chance to respond, I saw the auction end with me as highest bidder, then apparently I've lost out. Again. So fucked off. I just wish there was a better app where people could list for a reasonable price and you could just buy it, instead of these shitty auctions. It makes it hard to bid on multiple items, have to wait days for bids to end, sit like a hawk on end day, only to lose out anyway.

Are there any better sites to buy second hand? Tried vinted which is good for clothes, but not much toy selection, and nothing on fb near me. Thanks.

You CAN do that on eBay! If you don't want to bid for something just click on buy it now and you won't see the items that are being auctioned. You can't expect to 'win ' what you bid for.

You could also look at Gumtree

eBay does this to me a lot, but when I check my purchase history the item is there... Have you double checked that you did definitely lose?

People use sniper tools (such as glixen) these are free and bid for you in the last 5 seconds or so,
It's worth using

It sounds as though the seller has set a minimum price (which isn’t shown to you) and your bids didn’t meet that.

I’d probably just search using the “buy it now” function as mentioned above.

Set a sniper app as pp has said - I don’t know how as I’ve never bothered. But you wouldn’t have to sit around actually watching the bidding.

I noticed someone selling an iPhone the other day as I was looking for one for my daughter, the winning bid was £49, I was watching the phone but forgot to bid then noticed it said it had no bids and the listing had ended even though it definitely had bids, looking again the next day I saw the same phone/same seller it had been relisted for £129! Seems they ended the bidding early as they didn’t get the price they wanted so maybe that’s what happened? It was only an old iPhone as well! Certainly not worth £129
