It will be interesting to see if Tory MP Kate now makes a report of rape to the police, and to see if ex-Tory MP Andrew is arrested and charged. I think the chances of police doing anything without her complaint are tiny.

He has not been found guilty in a criminal court so cannot be sentenced for his crimes. It was found on the balance of probabilities that he had committed these acts.

I really hope there is a criminal case against him, but given the rape conviction rate in England is 1.6% it is unlikely.

I also hope their child is protected from the fall out of this being made public.

It says a lot that Griffiths only cares about the fall out of it being made public and not the damage he has caused his ex wife.

I will just add that children are also forced to have contact with the abuser since it is deemed in their best interest.

I really hope their child is protected.

The actual case makes very interesting reading, the fact that the Judge saw right through his 'important man who couldn't possibly be guilty of theses things because he doesn't actually believe he did anything wrong' act' renews my faith in the system. His misogyny and entitlement shine through! Glad to see that sense has prevailed. It is very obvious from the arguments put forward by his QC that his sole intention was that he wasn't publicly exposed as a rapist and abuser.
